B made gingerbread houses last night for the kids to decorate, which has become a bit of a tradition. The kids had a blast, but not as much as B.

It's getting cold? Wait for the real winter, temperatures in Heidelberg can easily drop another 20 degrees C. We're barely below the freezing point yet - record is -26° C iirc, two or three years ago.
And all of that with maximum one week of snow down in the plains...
>_>
I am a cold whimp, although at the temperatures you describe I'll be holed up in my apartment (unless I get a full fur wardrobe for Christmas).
Beautiful houses!
We've been enjoying the gluhwein und kinderpunsch ourselves!
Schweitzingen has a skating rink and 2 carousels but the most lovely carousel (thinking of your fabulous photos here) is in Wiensbaden! It has 2 levels for riders and is breath-taking! We would have stayed longer today, but, we're all cold wimps too and called it a day after 2+ hours.
