Düsseldorf is for cool people…

We arrived in Düsseldorf Saturday night after hitting major Autobahn congestion all day, spending 3 or so hours at different points in stop and go traffic. We stayed near the central train station at a Holiday Inn which we liked (we got a single huge room with 3 beds).

On Saturday morning, we drove 10 minutes or so to the Altstadt, which I find beautiful. We parked near the Königsallee, as it seemed to be fairly close to the river and our navigation system could find it!IMG_1916 (1024x683) IMG_1918 (1024x683)IMG_1943 (1024x683)We then walked about 5 minutes to the Rheinuferpromenade, a pedestrian area along the Rheine, overflowing with bars and restaurants. I’m not sure how to describe the weather, but the term glorious comes to mind. We decided we would take a Rheine cruise.
