We finally made it to the beach today. It has been unusually cold by Rio standards since I got here Saturday, with intermittent sun. This afternoon the sun was out in force was so we decided to go to Camboinhas, one of Niterói’s beaches. We got there at around 16:00, but it was windy and a little chilly so we only stayed an hour and a half or so. Still, the view toward Rio is absolutely gorgeous. Tomorrow we’ll head back after breakfast. In the detail below of the shot above, you can see all the Rio topographical landmarks: Pedra da Gávea, Dois Irmãos, Corcovado, Pão de Açucar. Rio is beautiful from all angles.Tomorrow afternoon we head to Teresópolis. Friday, the usual gang is scheduled to show up. I can’t wait.
