Finger of god…

and luckily it’s not the middle one. Less than a mile from the house in Teresopólis is world class mirante, or observation point. soberbo vista_0383 Panorama (1024x394)From here, you can see the odd shaped mountain called Dedo de Deus (finger of god). As you approach it on foot, you can usually see clearly that you’re at or above cloud level for the areas lying below.IMG_0407 (1024x666)On clear days, you can see downtown Rio and several landmarks. The days I walked over were somewhat hazy, but a trained eye can make out the Two Brothers from Ipanema and Pao de Acucar.IMG_1573 (1024x683)
