Aprazível: The Food

Aprazível is so breathtaking visually that you almost forget you’re there to eat. Our dinner started with heart of palm (palmito)served warm in the palm trunk. The rich taste of the fresh palmito and light sauce would could serve as an entree. We devoured it in less than a minute!IMG_9582 (1024x683) IMG_9586 (1024x683) (2) Each of us took a quick shot of our main course. I had the “Arroz Carioca”, a rice dish with shrimp.IMG_9708 (1024x683)The peppers were a nice touch but a bit mild for my taste.IMG_9718 (1024x683) B had a delicious fish filet (Dourado), just like last year. In my book, it’s about as good as fish gets.IMG_9709 (1024x683)Fabinho had the duck (my backup in case the Arroz Carioca, which is seasonal, wasn’t available).IMG_9711 (1024x683) Iza had the salmon and spoke very highly of it (it looked great).IMG_9714 (1024x683)Renato had a chicken dish with rice. I think he had plate envy when he saw my rice. Leopoldo apparently decided to respect the privacy of the lamb he ate.IMG_9716 (1024x683) (2)One of highlights for me was drinking freezing cold Cerpas out of an ice bucket, an old habit. Cerpa is still the finest Pilsner I have ever tasted.IMG_9578 (663x1024)IMG_9651 (1024x683)
