My paradise runneth over…

I have been to Praia das Conchas two times, but the latter was the only time I braved the rocks beside the beach to see what was doing  beyond eyeshot. It turns out that only slightly out of view of this marvelous beach is another wonder of nature.IMG_8420 (1024x683)Below you can clearly see a layer of volcanic rock.IMG_8419 (683x1024)The rock formations and the crashing sea only 5 minutes from the beach are indescribably beautiful. The going is slightly treacherous, with narrow paths and rock formations that sometimes lead you to dead ends, but is without a doubt worth the investmentIMG_8466 (683x1024)

The flora is pure magic to my eye: exotic plants, dense brush and cacti as far as the eye can see. As I mentioned in a previous post, the unpaved road to the beach takes its visitors through 10 minutes of a natural preserve.IMG_8436 (1024x683)

I still sincerely believe that the state of Rio de Janeiro (including the marvelous city of the same name)  contains more beauty than some continents in their entirety.IMG_8520 (1024x683)IMG_8482 (683x1024)
